Default OEM receiver to power LNB?

    Hello

I have a dreamlink T5 which is slow when switching between channels,
also whenever i switch between channels, randomly some channels becomes bad or no signal, switching back and forth solves the issue temporarily.
    i have 110, 119 and 129 locked.
i read forums and came across that dreamlink T5 is not strong enough to power 3 LNBs?
and power inserters or OEM receiver should be used.

can someone please explain what is an OEM receiver? and from where i can get one? and how to connect this receiver?

    Thanks

    Jass

its a Dreamlink T5, using it for dishnet. i have 110 on 18" inch, 119/118 and 129 on 30+ dish.
i am not sure how to find out if its dish pro or legacy but LNBs for 119/118 and 129 are similar here is the pic of lnb for 129 lnb.jpg. lnb for 119/118 has the exact same info written on it as lnb 129. for 110 lnb, there is nothing written on it but it looks exactly the same as 119/118 and 129.

Are you using an external switch?? If so what type/brand??

And can you post a full photo of the dish and LNB's.

here are the pictures. yes there is 4x1 diseqc switch attached. dish is 30+ round. 18" is also standard round dish installed somewhere else.
the antenna behind the dish is not attached to dish receiver or to the switch. it has diff line going straight to tv.

    thanks

Those coax ends are the pits. There are some self sealing ones you can buy (fleabay) but you have to buy the crimper also. Looking at you setup I can see where moisture and bad connections at the switch are most of your problems. jmo

Also your receiver has enough power for that setup. Like the previous post, change those connectors. Compression connectors are the way to go.

ok i changed all the connectors with compression connectors, added new switch, added new LNB for 118/119. receiver is running smooth. but bad signal is still there on certain channels on 118.
1 have a signal and quality of 96-99% on 119 but on 118 its below 25%. working channels on 118 have 30-50%. 50% is the max i can get, i readjusted the satellite but its not going up. i even tried adjusting the satellite on individual channels. i think its due to the bracket i installed, because signal is down on both of my receiver. before i had no bracket and quality was 75% on 118 and 119 was the same 96-99%.

this is the bracket i have installed and the dish is setup on 119/118. 129 is attached next to it with 86%+ signal. because of this bracket the distance between the dish and the lnb has increased.

Looks like that bracket doesn't hold the 118/119 lnb in the same spot as the original lnb collar would. I would go back to the original collar and then try to bolt the bracket to the 118/119 lnb.

yeah the increased arm length due to the bracket attachment was the issue. I flipped the collar and attached the other end to the arm of the dish. with that the arm length came to normal, the lnb height increased. i guess lnb hight is not a major issue as I got the missing channel quality back. quality jumped to 55% from 25%(on channel 737) and overall 118 improved quality. Also 129 quality jumped to 80s from 60. all the channels work if you set the bracket this way.

i guess you dont have to do it but i did it to see if i can get the same quality on 118/119 that i was getting without the bracket. so i removed the bracket, attached the original lnb collar that came with the dish, measured the length between the dish and the lnb collar.
then i removed the original collar and attached the bracket, attached the lnb collar on it (with the settings that normalizes the height but increases the length between the dish and the lnb collar). measured the length.
then i removed the bracket and cut the dish arm portion so it becomes original arm length with bracket on.
also i bent the bracket collar little bit to match the angle of original collar that came with the dish. it was bit off.
then i mounted lnb collar to the bracket, attached 118/119 lnb and i got 99% signal on 119 and 96% on 118.
    also 90+ signal on 129.
