Default Did I buy the right LNB for SES1?

Guess I should have asked on here before I bought this LNB, which is a Ku LNB. I haven't got it yet but I think it's the correct one. What concerns me, is that it says on Lyngsat that it is North America C for transponder 13 on SES1 for MeTV, Decades, Heroes & Icons, and Movies! I have a 42" dish. I hope it's big enough.

Makes sense, but I can't find a c-band one for a smaller dish. All the c-band lnb's I find are for a bud and the ku lnb's are for a smaller dish. I tore down the bud years ago.

Looks like a Universal Ku band lnb to me which will not get MeTv ect. I also doubt the Pan is big enough for C-band.

That's a linear ku lnbf and will not work for the channels you are inquiring about. You will need a dish of at least 6' for Ses 1 and most c band hd channels require a dish of about 10'.

When comparing the bands, c band wins hands down for premium content. You might want to have a look here on Amc 21 at 125w, about the best sat in our hood for ku unless you want all the foreign channels on Galaxy 19 at 97w:

I find a couple of channels on 97 degree sat worth watching. retroTV, KTV2, Micasa are three that I watch at times--RTN has Doc Who. 86 (Louisiana PBS), 72 (NBC mux) and 99 degree sats are others that I point at often.

My friend might have a 7' pan for me to use. I'll have to order a new lnbf once I get it. I got the ku lnb today. I might try a couple of those birds you all mentioned just to play with it. There sure isn't much on ku.

It has been my experience that you have to plan on pointing at a number of birds to get much. C and/or Ku, any one sat will not have many chs of interest. I have OTA and then with 4 sats I fill in a resonable ch list.

The reason I want SES1 is for Heroes & Icons, MeTV, Movies!, and Decades. It's for my dad. He has an OTA in Florida and gets MeTV and loves it. Now he's home and has withdrawal. Too bad, he just took down his 10 foot dish last summer. Only if he had known. Hindsight is 20/20 right?
