Default New Boot Vs 9K HD from USB

New Boot Vs 9K HD from USB

1: Create a folder called "USB"

2: Download the latest bn, which will be (example): PFTAHDSW-080627H.pgm

3: Rename the bin name to PFTAHDSW.pgm

4: Place this file PFTAHDSW.pgm in the USB folder

5: Plug the memory stick in the front USB slot on the VS9K. It does not matter if your box is set to front or back USB port, even with a HD plugged in the back.

6: Turn the back toggle off, wait a minute, then turn it on

    7: You will see:
    - 'Boot'
    - 'Check USB'
    - 'Downloading 0%-100%' (very fast)
    - 'Erasing 0%-100%' (fast)
    - 'Writing or Programming 0%-100% (slow)
    - 'Boot upgrade' flashes several times
    - '00:00' clock, then 'on'

    (9) Wait for autoroll, then voila! Back in action.

Hello. I just got the VS 9K HD. I am following your directions but i get 'not supporting or no file system' after the receiver shows 'boot'. Any suggestions? I also downloaded the bin pftahdsw-110802H.pgm to do this.

For use when your VS9000HD is stuck in a 'boot loop'.

    1. Make sure that you are in fact suffering from BOOT-LOOP. (BOOT) will be steady on your VS9000HD display and not move to the time setting.
    2. Make sure that you have a Laptop and a NULL cable to connect between the Laptop and the receiver. REMOVE the receiver from all connections.
    3. Find a solid copy of BOOT-LOADER 2 and (9000HDBoot fix_v2.pgm) to recover your VS9000HD receiver.
    4. Connect the NULL cable to the receiver and Laptop and don’t power the receiver on at this time.

** Have all the file available: Factory Files :/http://www.viewsatusa.com/support.htm
    * Loader 2 - Firmware Updater ( Serial)
    * VSHD Loader - Firmware Updater ( Serial)
    * VS 9000HD Factory Bin File - V108
    * HD Satellite Info File (HD 9000 only)

    *Step 1:
A PC to receiver with a NULL cable.
Try to load that boot fix file : 9000HDBoot fix_v2.pgm
make sure that you select (PC-STB) and click (OK).
STARTS: turn on the receiver .The fix file is about 33mb it will take some time to complete. My first try it took about 45 minutes but it works. You will see the indicator bar get out of sync and do strange stuff, don’t worry about what you see just let it finish.
Hit ok when finish and wait for receiver to finish
TURN OFF BEFORE IT START DOING
BOOT, CHECK USB , ON ..BOOT, CHECK USB , ON ..

    *Step 2:
    Open Loader 2
Locate a good copy of the (VS9000HD FIRMWARE)
    Load factory Firmware v108.: VIEWSAT_HD_v108
Right Click and Rename VIEWSAT_HD_v108 the file to 'PFTAHDSW.PGM'
Hit ok when finish and wait for receiver to finish
TURN OFF BEFORE IT START DOING
BOOT, CHECK USB , ON ..BOOT, CHECK USB , ON ..

    *Step 3:
Load the factory sat file using serial and Loader2
HD Satellite Info File (HD 9000 only)
After unzip it will look like this :VIEWSAT_HD9000_Satfile_U009
Hit ok when finish and wait for receiver 00.00

The receiver will now reboot and you will feel joy.
When the receiver reboots - you should be able to get to the menu by pressing the menu button just as it boots ...load a copy of the latest bin file, you can load this via USB.
Hope this helps you with your BOOT-LOOP problem.

It is not in a boot loop. I downloaded viewsat_vshd-v0132.pgm and PFTAHDSW_110802H.pgm onto a usb. Plugged USB to front of receiver. Turned off receiver from back. Turned it on. Says boot... ini... receiver is on . I go to USB storage . Selected scan and says No Supporting of No file System.

    I couldn't find the loader2 VSHDloader etc under http://www.viewsatusa.com/support.htm.
