Thumbs up Just getting 110 but not 119 w

Hi, I have installed many times my system in Canada with the same equipment and I had never been in trouble getting 119 first and then 110. But now I'm in Orlando, FL and I can't get 119 at all, just 110 with 97% signal quality and strength. I have a dreamlink hd receiver but I always use my old coolsat 500 to get the signal and then connect the dreamlink and adjust the correct TP (12297,12457 or 12339 for 119) and TP 12224 for 110 .

I have visited dishpointer.com enter my exact location, noted dish setup and checked line of sight for 119 specifically and have no obstacles for this sat. This is what I'm using:

    - 2 dual output DTV32 Eagle Aspen LNBs
    - 18x22 oval dish
    - chieta 4x1 diseqc switch
    - Dreamlink Hd Receiver (using coolsat 500 to catch signals only)

PLEASE.... Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you connecting directly to lnb without the switch in line?
Try swapping the 110 lnb to 119 position and vice versa.

No, I'm using the switch because I want to get the two sats. What I have noticed is that both LNBs are working fine but they just catch 110 in different positions while moving the dish azimuth and by changing ports in switch.
Is all my equipment correct or I have to change anything ????

    Thank you....

If at any time you changed connection to the switch without unplugging receiver there is a good chance switch is pooched. You can confirm this by turning box off from rear, removing switch and then hook coax straight to 119 lnb. If all is good then use port 3 and 4 on switch with box unplugged and then change antenna settings to ports used on switch. good luck

friend try tp 12297 for sat 119 to see if that helps, and make sure you have ports right also, for sat 110 use port 2 and sat 119 port 1.....

?????? I beg to differ, my CoolSat 5000 works just fine for finding 119 and 110, I use TP12457R for 119, it has the "Dish 101" channel on it, this channel is in the open and is in MPEG2, for 110 I use TP12355L, it has the "Whats on Dish" channel on it.

The CoolSat 5000 has a very fine tuner on it, I use it to find almost ever bird up there that I can see from that location.(dish channel 9598)

Thank you... I'll try removing the switch to see what happens. I have tried other switches also but still just able to catch 110.

My Coolsat 500 has been working great to get all birds and still now is capable of finding very easy 110. Anyways I'll try using my dreamlink Hd with tp 12297 to see if finally 119 appears. Thank you...

I agree. I always use this coolsat 500 with a small tv in the roof and this allows me not just to find all birds very easy but also to adjust to the max quality and strength my signal. But this time I'll try also using a different receiver and all other suggestions to see if my problem is fixed. I'll do that tomorrow and I'll let everybody Knows what happened.

    Thank you

friend that's my way to find the sats taking a small portable tv and your receiver on top of the roof, there easy to find and getting 99 to 100 percent signal and quality,i been doing it like this for the last 19 or 20 years, and its easy and simple, hope its not the lnb that its bad, sometimes water might gets into the lense and misses up the lnb, specially with snow problems....

Some of those oval dishes have the skew/tilt markings different from a Dish 500. On a Dish 500 the numbers decend going clockwise, on Directv oval dishes, and some aftermarket dishes the numbers ascend going clockwise. So if you're using the skew settings for a Dish 500 on one of those dishes the tilt will be reversed.

Ok.... I finally had the time to try again, following suggestions I bypass the switch and I was able to verify that my switch was good, also both Lnb's were good. But My always great to find satellite signals coolsat 500 receiver was not getting 119 bird in the corresponding installation screen for this sat. Some how when I find 119 bird, it only appears in the echostar 110 w and other sat screens, but even with exactly the same screen settings I never got to catch 119 in his corresponding screen. so I installed back my switch, opened the menu installation screen for 110 W, adjust tp and port 1 settings and I found 119 bird. then I opened the menu installation screen for 119 W, adjust tp and port 2 settings, skew my dish a little and I found 110 bird very easy. Finally knowing that my signal for this two birds where good, I mounted a second dish and using my dreamlink Hd receiver I found 129 bird and connected all 3 sat together to my receiver. I hope all this info could help others in similar situations that I had.

Thanks to all again for all your help.
