Dish 1000

I oicked up a Dish 1000. The head has a twin LNB and a single dishpro LNB. There is one coax coming out of the arm. I'd like to replace my two dishes(dish 500 and an old single dish) with the dish 1000. My receiver is close to the antennas, the coax is good. Will my Jynxbox Ultra HD receiver work? Is there a risk to its power supply? Is it worth a try?

if it is a dish 1000 the center LNB should have two ports one is for 118w the other for 119w the single is for 110w, there is no built in switch so you will need a switch, the best switch for it is the DPP44 switch with power inserter, you can add another single LNB
for sat 129w, you will need the bracket for the 129w LNB.

The single LNB is is in the 129 position and it is a dishpro. The twin is in the 110 and 119 positions and it does NOT say it is a dish pro. Maybe that clarifies things. I'm not sure if my receiver will work with it and how to set the antenna and diseqc options.

Not correct. D1000 is a Dishpro antenna, with a built-in switch. For a Jynxbox, the recommendation is to run a power inserter into port 1, and you can use the remaining two ports for your receivers. The 129 lnb would go into the LNB-IN if you are using the internal switch. If you want to use the DPP44 switch, you would run all three lines down from the lnbs, where port 1 is 119, and 110 is port 2, 129 from its connector. For the OP, use OCS-DP for the legacy LNB, and off for the legacy SW.

My bad on that, dish 1000 plus or dish 500 plus does not have a switch built in.

Did you read his post where he did say he had a single LNB, and if you have a single LNB it will need to go to a switch.

The D1000 dish can come in many different configurations, one setup for 110, 119,129 in one LNB, one setup for 61.5, 72.7, 77 in one LNB, one setup for 110,119,129 with 2 separate LNB's (DP twin and a single), one setup for 110, 118, 119 129 in 3 LNB's, and one setup for 110, 119, 129 with 3 separate LNB's.

The first three setups have internal switches and don't need the external DPP44 switch, however they need to use a DPP44 power inserter as most FTA receiver's can not power the 3 DP LNB's by it's self.

The last two configurations need to use the DPP44 switch to run the setup (if you have more then the one FTA receiver to run) or a 4x1 Diseqc switch will also work.(for 1 receiver)

There are many configuration numbers, D1000.2, East or West, D1000.4, D1000 Plus and so on.

If you are going to buy the power supply, why not buy the switch with it for a few more dollars, its better to have it and not need it
then to need it and not have it, JMO,LOL.

Also in some cases the FTA receiver dose not like the DC power inserter in-line with it, so you may have to run a second coax for the receiver and use the DC power inserter on the #1 port of the switch or LNB.

It has also been noted that the DC power inserter will add about 6 dB of signal loss to the system, some systems with the add on HD module and long runs of coax can have signal drop out's, missing transponders or missing channels due to the extra insertion loss of the DC power injector.

This is another good reason to have the DC power injector on it's on run of coax.
