Default ilink 9600hd no sig with pgm file

I have tested the ilink 9600hd with sk200 module,
in the place of 3 other receivers with high 90s
for strength and 80s for quality on nfusion receivers,
but when I hook up the ilink with same cables same diseqc
and other equipment. can't lock onto sats, I did once,
    but now I can't.
can I run the ilink without the sk200 w/o damaging it,
just to see if it has something to do with it?
Is the ilink less sensitive to the signal than the nfusion.
    anyone else having this issue?
Also what is up with the remote on this model?

    Time lapse::::::

so I went back and put just the factory file on
and tried to bring in the sats. It did find one of them
and locked on with 70 strength and 89 qual.
I scanned and got 10 channels, even though
it scanned in 105 of the same few channels.
Put my server info and time info in the 3rd server spot.
(First one or two are for public so I made them red).
made 3rd server green, hit blue button to apply.
Then I upgraded to the 019 file, waited for reboot
and welcome message on front display, rebooted from back,
still had the few channels show up(that I don't get in this area)
on the epg. But sat strength fluctuated between 40 and 98
and the sig qual went down and stayed at 20.
I tried all of the transponders on the list and nothing changed.
Which leads me to believe that the program file is somehow
affecting my receiver and its sensitivity to the sat signal.
Then I unhooked the ilink 9600hd and hooked up the nfusion solaris
    and everything was good again.
Now, the people that I got my new in box receiver from already installed
the green sk200 module. Not sure what to do next.
I have also tried the 013,015, 016 and also transferred a channel list
after all of this, still no go. Pretty expensive door stop now.

    Thanks,

just curious, in the antena setup, are the lnb power turned on or off or are they on auto?
I'm also gonna assume you already have each lnb on the proper port settings... ie: 110 port 1, 119 port 2, 129 port 4?

    just curious..

there might be a slight chance that the sk200 module is fubar'd... maybe somebody here will know how to test it?/

    good luck

Thank you for your reply Swanner, lnb power is auto, 13/18v, have tried 14/19 as well, 110 is port 1, 119 is port 2. I tried w/o the sk200 module as well but I didn't have any luck there either.
    Thank you,
