Did you test IPTV with list on usb key or just with what it was delivered with.

    Thanks

I am waiting for mine to come in.

If you receive a openbox X5 and it only gives you a red light and it doesn't power up all the way, return it and get another...They don't have a file (usb or serial) to fix it yet...I am waiting for my second one now...

Also this is a good reason to buy from a US dealer...

.bin files and most box's files should be looked at first with hexviewer or hexeditor--that will let you see what is inside the file. Look at the file size of the zipped and un-zipped contents too, that will tell you if the un-zipped file actually has compressed part (somethinng that is clear code should compress to about 50% or less of the size you start with).

I'm guessing that the openbox coders don't know how to un-scramble and decompress the guide info that DN sends out--they likely only know how to work with the DVB-S(2) guide info as specifed in the DVB standards.

That info is in menu access control..........there you'll find newcamd, CCamd, MGCamd and Twin Protocol wish is used in South America a lot for SKS (satellite Key Sharing) there is a channel editor for this receiver wish works for both X5 and the new X5 Spuer, with that channel editor you can also edit and create Sat list with TPs......................

If it is not posted here I'll get it but there is a loader for recovering this receiver using the RS232 port, PM me if it is not posted I'll post it.

Update, a few days after I bought this STB last year my neighbor saw it at home and bought from me, now my SkyBox S12 a year after that died on me the HDMI output and then the RCA audio outputs, neighbor bought very recently a new receiver and when he knew I had no receiver gave me back the OpenBox X5, I started testing it again found few things bothering me like can't sort channels alphabetic order but it got solved with latest official Firmware 11-11-2013, the test re starts will report my findings. Hello turbo, over at the openbox site there is a north American sat list you can load by usb & a ch list, or you can just rename
the chs, to get the chs in order all you need to do is this, when you rename start with the ch number like hbo would be=300 HBO=
after you are done then sort by alphabetic and they will be in order.

I tried that list, it messed up my receiver, (froze up, motor tried to go full East all the time, had to go back to the factory software) I just deleted all the European and Asian satellites and re-did my own, doesn't take that long.

    Works great now.

I am thinking of buying this box, but lack of guide is troublesome as I record lots of program n view at later time. I see new software dated 2/7/14 does that fix it? What is their website? I searched but cant seem to find it,

    Thanks

If your looking into dn or bev hd, this box will not open turbo 8psk that is required. A great box for true fta though.

The one dated 2014 is not an official firmware. you can record anything you just need to set recordings by time. true fta channels have no guide and I have recorded tons of movies and japan animation.

I see what you mean IQ but I don't use this receiver with those Sats, I use it for True FTA, the latest firmware 11-11-2013 has the Sort A-Z that I was looking for, the files with the Date of 2014 are not officials those were design for IKS the one from January says IKS, the HD image I get from PBS Channels are crystal clear
