after doing a search in the wiz program and finding my 110sr board, I dry to upload version 4.12 but when I hit upload I keep getting a popup window "the destination 192.168.11.2 is unreachable. Please check if the device is the same subnet with the PC." I have no idea what this means, or how to correct it. Any help on this please?

Your gateway ip in wiznet is not the same as your computers.Change gateway ip to match computer then hit settings at the bottom. Then try to upload the 4.12.

Do you have the wiz110sr directly connected to the computer via ethernet cable?

d97k1500
11-05-2013, 10:46 PM
it is connected directly to my internet modem. Just to be clear I am accessing it through the ethernet side of the device, I am not using the db9 connection.

I can't seem to even find "network connections" even in a search.

What version is the dongle right now ?
Look here:http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?119735-Easy-I-hub-upgrade-and-V82-fix

If you still need to upload the file:

Not sure of your windows version but try this:
Make sure your hardwired from your computer lan port...

Right click on the Network icon on your desktop and chose "properties".
Choose "change adapter settings".
Double click on "local area connection".
Locate "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and double click on it.
Choose "Use the following ip address"
For "IP address", enter your default gateway but make the last number .15 (ex:192.168.0.15)
"Subnet mask" is the usual 255.255.255.0
"Default gateway" is your default gateway... duh...(ex:192.168.0.1)
Dont worry about entering anything for "DNS server" and click "ok" to exit out.
Try again to load the file.
Post your results.

Good luck,

Before I go farther, I noticed I have Version 4.31 on the wiz 110sr, do I have to even do any of this, will everything work with the 110 the way it is?

Why not answer your own question? What is version 4.31? Is it software for the sonicview or is it sw for the wiznet as provided by wiznet? If provided by wiznet then it does not have the code required to talk to the sv box and connect to the web as needed for the sv version of IKS.

4.31 is what is on the wiz110sr from the factory I guess, anyway, I got the IP's to match and for it to open the upload section, but now when I click on version 4.12 file, i get "failed to upload".

did you extract the file before loading it? whats the file name that you are loading to the wiz110sr?

yes, I opened it and saved it on my desktop, it is svlan 4.12

d97k1500

is it possible to load it through the sv box?

Sp0iler

Did you load the current file for the box, connect the dongle and reboot the box as instructed in my earlier link?
What happened when you tried ?
The file in the box should update the dongle for you if your at version 2.2 or higher.
Also... the dongle will work at version 4.3 as well but needs to be updated to 4.12 for a smooth ride.

Ok, I have a working system with a svlan, and am trying to make a backup for the svlan with the wiznet 110sr, so you are telling me all I have to do is switch the two and reboot? I am under the impression that the wiznet has its own file for the box which is different than the svlan one. Just to be clear, I am NOT trying to upgrade a I-hub, or other older version dongle to a svlan, I am trying to set up a brand new wiznet 110sr as a backup. Thanks.

My bad. I get confused sometimes. :)

Your correct. The current file for the 110 board is not the same as the Svlan file.
You want the No-check file which circumnavigates the security check.
C/P from another one of my posts:

1-Using the Wiz program... upload the Svlan 4.12FW file.
2-In the Wiz program, click on the "Serial" tab. Change the baud rate (speed) to 115200 and click on the "settings" to save the change.
3-Load the "nochk" Emulator file for your box to the box
4-Reconnect the 110 board as usual and reboot the box.
5-You should see the "Network adapter connected" message and you should have "Network settings" in your menu.
6-Confirm the info or load the server info if needed and try to connect.

If all has gone well, you should run like any other dongle for SV.

End C/P

Hope that helps.

Good luck,

I can open the Wiz program, see the board, change the baud rate, open upload, but every time when I double click on the 4.12 file, which I have opened and extracted the bin file, it starts to load, or shows the window and bar graph, but never completes and says "upload failed". I have heard of people loading the 4.12 bin onto the box and loading it that way, but I am not sure of this method and don't want to "brick" my boards, I am trying to do 2 as spares. Now should I reset the baud rate to the original 1st? or does that even matter?

Do not load the 4.12 file into receiver. There are files that if loaded will update hub to 4.12.But with the new 110sr's you have to set them up different.

The 4.12 file is a dongle firmware only file and doesn't have the info for the box contained in the svlan file.
The baud rate needs to match that of the box or the box won't see the dongle for use.

I finally got it to load, the last PM you said to me that you thought it was a communications problem with my computer, so on the dongle I switched in the IP the last 2 digits fro x2 to x0, and it worked, I was under the impression the IP had to exactly the same, obviously I was wrong, it appears to only have to me mostly exact, maybe this was conveyed to me and I didn't understand, but anyway I got v4.12 loaded on both new dongles and will test them on a box soon, thanks much.

First make sure you set IP address in Wiznet to the same subnet as your Network.
Type in Command Prompt IPCONFIG and if your IP is for instance 192.168.1.9 Then set in Wiznet to static 192.168.1.25

Save settings. Close Wiznet and reopen. Try upload Svlan 4.3.
If that does not work you may have to start from Rom100 and work your way up.

Here is a link to a collection of firmware to help fixing your Ihub.

It's a must that you plug your dongle into the lan port on your computer in order to have a "Local area connection" and bypass the network.
Then you can get your computer in the same subset as the dongle.
Even though wiz see's and can read the dongle, your still not set for sending files.. hence the fail to upload message.
Plug straight into the lan port on your computer and see this post again:
