Hi,my sonicview8000 cannot detect my 8gb flashdrive, but when i plug in my WD powered External HD it recognize it. anyone?

Thanks!Is that a Kingston 8GB flash drive ?. I find SV does not like Kingston drives.
Check the format on your PC and ensure it is formatted FAT32.

many flashdrives use a formatting / file mananer software thats hidden on the drive. this software is incompatible with the sonicview 8000... there are ways to reformat the drive to remove it with special apps but I cant for the life of me remember what the name of these are.

its an A Data 8gb flashdrive. do you think i need a small flashdrive 2gb?

no just a compatible drive without the software...I like its called "UD" or something....
been down this road myself years ago with my 8000.... its also finicky about certian usb hardrives that use the same file managment program.

It could be that your power supply has a weak capacitor and thus is not supplying enough power to run your thumb drive. Try a few different drives and if they don't work, check the voltages on your power supply.
