If I were to load one of the latest channel lists, like say SV8K112712.bin, would I still need to load another .bin file, like HD20-2028, after that? Or is a channel list like SV8K112712.bin a working bin file itself? The reason I ask is that in the past, I used to update channel names using a comma separated values Excel file, and that didn't "overwrite" the .bin file itself.

Just load the HD20-2028 file. Then make sure your satellite settings are correct. Then do your own RED button scan of your satellites.

Ok, sounds good. I guess that way I'll get a thorough scan in.

I can't believe I did a factory reset to my receiver though... and it has been a while since I loaded any files on it, so I had to ask.

I was actually trying to bring back another SV8000 to life to give to someone else, and I did a factory reset on it, while it was connected to another input on my TV sitting on the floor. My SV8000 was on the TV stand still behind this one, and while I was pointing at his receiver with my remote, I forgot about the RF adapter I use with my SV8000, and so my receiver picked up the key presses on the remote at the same time and wiped my SV8000 clean too! Doh!!

So now I have to rescan, and create all my favorite channel lists, including the one I had for the "Western Arc" with hundreds of channels in it!

But just for curiosity's sake, are these channel lists with .bin extensions working bins themselves?

Where do I find the HD 20-2028 File?

Thanx!

No they are not. They simply contain the latest transponders and channels found on those sats in the file.
Load the current file followed by any channel list you would like to load.

good luck,

My question could be stupid. Is channel list bin file the same for all receiver ? E.g. Can I use the SV8k channel list bin file on another receiver like Satzen 500 ? Because I am looking for an updated file for Satzen but could not find anything.

Most are not interchangeable.Surely someone has made a channel list for Satzen.
Did you look in the Satzen file section for one ??
