When I first installed my SV8000 6 month ago and with the latest svlan I never was able to get SAT 110,129,&118. All I get is SAT119. I switch 110 to port 1 and saw 110 so I figured out that my dish had moved a bit. Finally I found a tech with a meter and he came today and tweak my dish. He then showed me all the SAT 110,119,129,&118 on the meter and had strong signal. But when I went to my SV menu to setup the SAT110 It came out as 119.

I did a factory reset, did the system clean, install the SV factory ROM then installed SVlan20. I then went to dish setting and still 110,119,&118 came out as 119. Port1 119, port2 110,port3 129 and port 4 118 but all comes out as 119.

I have a Viewsat 9000 and I connected, went to the dish setting and have the same issue... all comes out SAT 119 IS IT MY SWITCH that is not SWITCHING.

Sounds to me like you didn't set up your satellite settings correctly. You also didn't tell us what type of switch your using.

One thing you could try is your Switch... your dish 1000+ does it have any lnbs with internal lnb switches in them?
That probably be the main cause of your issues.. internal lnb switches are nothing but problems for fta receivers..
swap the lnbs out and use single lnbs with no internal lnb swiches.. and then connect the single lnbs to a 4x1 EMP Centrauri
or Spawn quality switchs. I have tired to use many other brands of disque switches and ended up being a crap shoot, some time they work many times they dont and having problems often similar to what your having and many scanning issues... cheap switches with leack from port to port.. they are poorly insulated.. if you have a 4x1 disque switch connect to lnbs with internal switches, there probably fighting with each other...

one more thing to think about is your sat TP file... the one I currently have on my SV8000 show zero quality for sat. 119 and 129.
when you go into the 119 and 129 sat. page.. dont let that fool you, if you know your settings are correct and you see zero quality on your sat.. go to the transponder list and scroll to the left and change the transponder number and see if your quality now comes in... is what I have to do with this TP file I have now on my SV8000... I know my settings are correct.. I'm in sat 119 page.. quality says zero.. but i know my settings are correct so I go ahead and scan.. and every thing scans in just fine..
some times the TP sat file can be a bit ambiguous some times with reading your sats correctly...

If the Dish 1000+ has all DPP LNB's on it then the problem is the external switch, the DP+ dish does not like to play nice with NON dish approved switches, the only switch that is recommended by Dish to be compatible with the DP+ dish is the DPP44 switch and power inserter.

Here is a link to a PDF on how to hook it up correctly.

http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Dishnetwork/Dishes/DISH_500+_and_DISH_1000+_Installation_Instructions .pdf

Using NON dish approved switches may work for a bit, then problems with switching, missing satellites or loosing transponders may arise.

I have a DPP44 switch and is a DN. Like I said in my original message, I had a tech that came in and realigned the dish 1000+. You might be right, it must be my switch... I had this switch for almost 3 years. Thank you very much for your help.

I'm not quite sure how you have your HD 8000 configured, but, as I have the same setup, I can provide some input here.
First, before you go and buy a new DPP 44, check your cables coming from the LNBs are inserted into the correct port of the DPP 44 switch. Then check your settings. You should have the following:

119- Port 1- SW21 LNB 1
110- Port 2- SW21 LNB 1
129- Port 3- SW21 LNB 1
118- Port 4- SW21 LNB 1

If you are trying to tune 110 (and provided you have the settings above), and see 119 instead, try changing your TP until you see 110. I just reconfigured my system due to moving apartments and I did see this behaviour. As soon as you lock the sat, do your scan.
Let me know if this works.

All my port setting are correct and I did try changing TP but only 119 shows up. My new switch will show up this Friday and hope this will fix my problem. Thanks

Bypass the switch and hook the 110 directly to the box.
Do you have 110 now ??

ur setting are correct. you just have to go to setting and scroll to TP 12268 and should be on port 1 then you will see 119 pop up and do that for 129 too on port 2 and just scan. Everything will pick up auto.
or you can just install the lastest channel bin.

And you are using the DPP power inserter on receiver power #1 of the switch right?

It wont work without it on that port, and some FTA receivers do not like to work with the DPP power inserter in-line, so on some installations you need to run the DPP power inserter on it's own seperate coax to the #1 receiver port on the switch, then the other 3 receiver ports on the switch with run any receiver just fine.

And Charliechaz, why the SW21 settings????? The DPP44 switch is not a SW21.

Yes it is on power #1. My new DPP44 switch came in and intalled it ad it is doing the same thing... only 119 shows up on all ports. It cannot be my LNB because when I put the 110 coax on Port 1 110 shows up. Like I mentioned on my previous posting a tech with a meter checked my dish and he showed me that all 119, 110, 129 and 118 are all coming in. I am now really confused because with a new switch, a tech checked my dish and still no signal from another SAT. I also had put another receiver to check if it is my SV receiver and same problem.

Thanks for all the replies.

OK, did you follow the wiring instructions for the DPP44 switch?

The #1 output of the LNB goes to the #1 input port on the switch, then #2 to #2, #3 to #3, and the output from the 118 side goes to the #4 input.

Then I would also be sure to ground the switch, this can be to a metal cold water pipe or the house AC electrical service ground, be sure to use 12gauge copper wire.

Then Diseqc switching is used, Diseqc #1 = 119, use TP 12457R to look for 119, then Diseqc #2 will equal 110, use TP 12224R for that satellite, then Diseqc #3= 129, use TP 12516R to find this bird, and lastly use Diseqc #4 for 118, use TP 11806R to find this one.

It will look something like this. (I think these are right for your receiver)(someone with this setup please check me on this)

Satellite 119 W
Transponder 12457R
LNB power ON
LNB type OCS-DP
LNB Frequency 11250
22 KHz OFF
Switch Type DiSEqC
DiSEqc 1
Legacy SW OFF

Satellite 110 W
Transponder 12224R
LNB power ON
LNB type OCS-DP
LNB Frequency 11250
22 KHz OFF
Switch Type DiSEqC
DiSEqc 2
Legacy SW OFF

Satellite 129 W
Transponder 12516R
LNB power ON
LNB type OCS-DP
LNB Frequency 11250
22 KHz OFF
Switch Type DiSEqC
DiSEqc 3
Legacy SW OFF

Satellite 118 W
Transponder 11806R
LNB power ON
LNB type OCS-DP
LNB Frequency 11250
22 KHz OFF
Switch Type DiSEqC
DiSEqc 4
Legacy SW OFF

I added the TP's on the list and configured them on all ports and still only 119 is showing up. Here's what is very interesting. I put 110 on port 1 and went to dish setting and 110 showed up on port 1. I then did a scan and all 110 channels came in. I was able to see and watch all 110 channels but 119 channels went dark even though it showed that q was at 100%. I then powered off the switch and put 119 back to port 1 and all 119 channels came back but the 110 went dark but q showed at 100%. I'm lost here. What else can I do. BTW I also did a factory reset, sys clean, factory rom, and installed the latest bin 2028. Is it possible that I should install the old bins and upgrade till I get to the 2028?

Thanks

I think it's something in your software, but I'm a hardware guy, so someone who knows the software better than I will have to help for now.

I think you might be right. Anyway, does anyone out there has the same configuration as mine and able to scan all SAT 119, 110, 129 &118? I have a SV8000HD and my dish is a Dish1000+ with a DPP44 switch. Thanks.

I waited until I got my DPP44 switch today to reply to your message. I do have all the port settings as you indicated. I have tried changing the TP on 110 port 2 but all I get is 119. I have tried all the recomendations from all that sent me messages but can't get 119. Now here is what is odd. I put the 110 coax on port 1 and it shows up on the dish setting and then I scan the 110 SAT. I left the coax on port 1 and I can see and watch all channels on 110 but 119 channels went dark. Then I put back 119 on Port1 and channels on 119 comes back and 110 channels are dark . Do you also have a Dish 1000+ with a DPP44 switch? I am going crazy here...Kandie
