I am using an 8ft offset Anderson for 119 and a 6ft offset channel master for 110 dishnetwork reception, from my location it is not possible to see 129 which I understand has most of the HD programming. On 119 signal is received from the following transponders 6, and 8 to 21. On 110 signal is received from transponders 1, 5, 8, 9, 16, 21 and 24. I hope this information is helpful to anyone interested in setup in the Southern Caribbean.

RegardsHI some PPL are asking where you are located because that's very important to know to get charlie signal.
WOOOw if you're running a 2.4M ANDERSON on 119W means your signal is SKY-high or not. because I'm in the dutch antilles and running a 1.8M ANDREW on 119 and get a pretty good signal. Also I have NO PROBLEMS to receive SAT 129W with a 2.4m
ANDERSON. I DON't use 110W any longer because different TP DON'T come in, so I moved my 2.4M ANDERSEN to 72.7W and
there I receive ALL TP's available and mostly in HD. In the southern Caribbean you can't compare 72.7W with 110W.
Hope this info will help.

thanks for the info I also live in the southern caribbean and I am interested getting dish I dont know where everyone is located but I have heard some people prefer to get signal for western arc (110 and 119) and other a mix east and west 110 +61.5 +119

maybe I am wrong but I heard you will get better signal from eastern arc and that you probably need only 2 dish to get almost all the channels point your dish to 72.7 + 61.5 .I heard 77 dont carry no channel no more and because eastern arc is in mpeg4 they can put more channels on a sat and since down in the caribbean you need a big dish which is expensive.

1 question does anyone down here use 1 dish with multibracket ? because if I can get good signal I might buy 1 channel master 2.4 m dish and with multibracket get sky 58, amazonas 61 , dish 61 , dish 72.7 together on 1 dish maybe even with 77

WOOOOW man, I don't know which island in the south you are, but in the Dutch Antilles a CHANNEL MASTER 2.4M will cost
around U.S.$ 3000,-- C.I.F. plus import duties. The ANDERSON is a little bit cheaper with a higher gain. personel experience.
You can get SKY 58 (linear LNB), dish 61 and Amazones and a lot of patience to tweak the dish. Forget about 72.7 and 77.W
out of line. Hope this help you. Good Luck.

JULY 2012 nobody south of New York will be able to get BEV signal, new sat almost working like a spotbeam. forget about it.
By the way 2.4M ANDERSON works perfect on 72.7W. all HD-channels. Good luck.

The "Eastern Arc" dish is for 61.5, 72.7 and 77, but it's WAAAAYYYY too small for your area.

And yes it mirrors the 110,119 and 129 channels. (almost)

Forget 77.0 Almost nobody can get it. Most FTA receivers are not capable to receive the TP configurations. It's all locals anyway and no PS supports any of them.

In western Caribbean (Central America) with 1.8m dishes we get nothing on 119 (since E-14 launch) but 72.7 comes in, all TP's. 61.5 gets some TP's but not all. Some get 119 with a 2.4m dish but with 61.5/72.7 who needs it. All the most popular channels are in HD and all HD are on 72.7.

To get multiple sats the dish needs to be oval and the 1.8m and 2.4m are basically round so it's practically impossible. Big round dishes are like telescopes honing in on one spot to boost the signal. I did see a 1.8m on 119 getting a very weak signal on 110 by jury rigging the 2nd LNB position. I've been told you can get 61.5 and 58.0 by getting the 2nd LNB in the right position. Probably because they are so close together and 58.0 is aimed here. Wonder what an oval 1.8m with skew would cost if they even had them. Probably cheaper to buy two standard round ones.

Aren't ChannelMaster and Andrews the same fiberglass dish? I think Andrews bought out ChannelMaster or vice versa. I've tried the cheaper 1.8m metal dish and the signal is just as good though I wouldn't recommend them for coastal/island areas because of the salt air and humidity unless you maintain regular lubrication.

I'm in the Caribbean with an 8 ft Andrews and get 119 but not 110 which comes in very weak with only one (1) channel showing. I also have a 4 ft offset pointing at 61.0w, Amazonas, and it shows well.

friend you can get 119west starting with a 1.1m dish. however the ideal thing is to use a 1.8 meter . You get all the transponders very strong including the hd transponder also

This all depends on where your located, not all areas have the same coverage from the satellite.

That is why you should always check on satbeams for your location in the foot print.
